The surface of the lake is 47500 m2 fed by a spring abounding in water. It is the largest natural thermal lake in the wold. The springs are of different temperatures: one is 42° C, while the other is 38° C.
Water temperatures is 33-35°C, but it can reach 38° C in summer. In winter at air temperatures below zero, the water temperature does not fall below 23 - 25° C. The cloud of fine vapour over the loke is visible from several kilometres away. "The lake is smoking a pipe"-local people say.
Indications:
Rheumatic diseases of the locomotr system, arthosis, chronic polyartritis, spondylosis, spondloarthritis, ankylopoetica, inflammations of the nervous system, rehabilation after injuries and operations, and certain bone illnesses.
Contraindications:
Active tuberculosis, all cases of malignant tumours, cerebral sclerosis, coronary cirulation disturbances, thromosis and thrombophlebitis, seroous cases of anaemia, leukemia and hemophilia, hyperthyroedosis, bronchial asthma, conditions characterized by coma and in case of prepnancy.
